DG Assam Rifles pays tribute to martyr

Dimapur, Aug 6: The Director General of Assam Rifles, Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, along with all ranks of the force, on Wednesday paid solemn tribute to a brave soldier who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty on August 6, 1966.

In a commemorative message, the Assam Rifles honoured the courage, dedication and selfless service of the fallen soldier, reaffirming the force's enduring commitment to remembering its martyrs and upholding the values for which they laid down their lives.
"The Director General of Assam Rifles and all ranks salute the valiant soldier who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty on 06 Aug 1966," the force said in its tribute.
The Assam Rifles described the martyr's sacrifice as a lasting source of inspiration for serving personnel, emphasising that the courage and devotion displayed by those who gave their lives in defence of the nation continue to motivate future generations of soldiers.
