DG Assam rifles pays tribute to martyrs on 14 May

Shillong, May 14: Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General of Assam Rifles, along with all ranks of the force, paid solemn tribute to the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty on 14 May.

The remembrance was marked with deep respect and reverence across Assam Rifles formations, where officers and personnel honoured the courage, dedication, and selfless service of the fallen heroes. Wreaths were laid, and moments of silence were observed to pay homage to those who laid down their lives while safeguarding the nation.
The Director General acknowledged the unwavering commitment of the martyrs, stating that their sacrifice remains an enduring source of inspiration for all ranks. He reiterated that Assam Rifles continues to stand firmly committed to upholding the legacy of courage and duty exemplified by its bravehearts.
Units across various locations also organised commemorative gatherings, reflecting on the invaluable contribution of the fallen personnel in maintaining peace, security, and stability in sensitive regions.
The force reaffirmed its resolve to carry forward its mission with renewed dedication, ensuring that the sacrifices of its martyrs are never forgotten and continue to guide future generations of soldiers.
