DG Assam Rifles reviews border security

Tengnoupal, Manipur, Dec 4: Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General of Assam Rifles, visited Shaibol Post in Tengnoupal, Manipur, on December 3, 2025, to review border security arrangements and ongoing welfare measures for troops stationed in the region.

During the visit, Lt Gen Lakhera interacted extensively with the personnel deployed along the Indo–Myanmar border, assessing their operational preparedness and understanding the challenges faced while performing duties in the difficult and remote terrain. He commended the troops for their professionalism, vigilance, and unwavering dedication to safeguarding the border, emphasizing the critical role they play in national security.
The DG Assam Rifles also evaluated infrastructure facilities and welfare initiatives implemented at the post, aimed at improving the quality of life for the deployed troops. These measures include improved housing, medical support, and recreational facilities to ensure the physical and mental well-being of personnel stationed in harsh border conditions.
Lt Gen Lakhera encouraged the troops to maintain high standards of operational efficiency and readiness, while reaffirming the organization’s commitment to supporting its personnel through welfare and infrastructure initiatives.
