
Imphal, April 13: Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General of Assam Rifles, visited Keithelmanbi Garrison on 12 April 2026 to assess operational preparedness and review troop welfare measures in Manipur.
During the visit, the DG conducted a comprehensive review of the unit’s operational readiness, infrastructure, and ongoing security responsibilities in the region. He also interacted with personnel deployed at the garrison, appreciating their professionalism, dedication, and high standards of discipline while operating in a sensitive and challenging security environment.
As part of the visit, Assam Rifles Director General felicitated seven bravehearts in recognition of their exemplary service and courage in the line of duty. The recognition aimed to boost morale and acknowledge the commitment of personnel serving in difficult operational conditions.
Vikas Lakhera also interacted with Assam Rifles sports teams, encouraging them to continue excelling in national and institutional sporting platforms. He emphasized the importance of physical fitness, team spirit, and discipline as integral components of soldiering.
