
Ahead of Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit, Border Security Force (BSF) Director General Daljit Singh Chaudhary on Thursday visited the shelling-hit areas of Poonch district on Thursday and reviewed the prevailing security situation.
Shah during his two-day stay in the Jammu region will visit Poonch on Friday and meet the shelling-hit people and the BSF personnel in Poonch district, which was the worst hit in the Pakistani shelling.
At least 14 civilians were killed and hundreds of houses and structures damaged in the Pakistani shelling in the Poonch district.
Accompanied by senior police officers, DG BSF visited the shelling-hit Gurdwara Singh Sabha and Geeta Bhawan, and inspected the damage caused to religious places and civilian areas.
He also interacted with the BSF personnel and reviewed the ground situation following Operation Sindoor.
