
Itanagar, Jan 31: DGP Arunachal Pradesh, Dr S.D. Singh Jamwal, IPS, visited the Tirap, Changlang and Longding (TCL) region on January 29–30, 2026, to review the prevailing security situation and assess ongoing operational preparedness. The visit focused on strengthening coordination among security agencies and ensuring sustained peace and stability in the sensitive border region.
During his tour, the DGP interacted with senior officers, including the DIG, Assam Rifles, at Lekhapani. He reviewed intelligence-based operations, counter-insurgency measures, and ground-level security arrangements. Dr Jamwal appreciated the strong inter-agency coordination between Arunachal Pradesh Police, Assam Rifles, and other security forces, terming it crucial for effective law enforcement and proactive threat mitigation.
The DGP also lauded community-centric initiatives undertaken by the forces, highlighting their role in building public trust and cooperation. He emphasized the importance of people-friendly policing, timely intelligence sharing, and continued synergy among all stakeholders to maintain long-term peace in the TCL region.
Reaffirming the state police’s commitment, Dr Jamwal urged officers to remain vigilant, responsive, and professionally driven while addressing security challenges and serving local communities with sensitivity and dedication.
