
Srinagar, Aug 13: DGP J&K Nalin Prabhat on Thursday conducted a late-night inspection of security arrangements across Srinagar to assess preparedness ahead of Independence Day celebrations.
The DGP was accompanied by IGP Kashmir V.K. Birdi, SSP Srinagar Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy and other jurisdictional officers.
During the inspection, Prabhat reviewed naka points, deployment positions and security arrangements at Bakshi Stadium, the main venue for the Independence Day function.
He interacted with personnel deployed on the ground and reviewed the overall security grid. He directed officers to maintain heightened alertness, strengthen inter-agency coordination and ensure robust security arrangements.
The DGP stressed thorough frisking, area domination and real-time monitoring to ensure peaceful and incident-free Independence Day celebrations in the Kashmir Valley.
Senior officers briefed the DGP on the existing security arrangements and measures put in place for the upcoming event.
