Jammu, Sep 26: The Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat on Saturday visited Udhampur and took stock of the ongoing anti-terror operations in the higher reaches bordering Kathua, a route used by infiltrating terrorists in the past to penetrate the hinterland, officials said.

The visit of the police chief comes days after two Pakistani terrorists affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) outfit were killed in a joint operation by army, police and CRPF in Soan area of Majalta on September 17.
Accompanied by Inspector General of police, Jammu range, Tejinder Singh, the DGP reviewed the ongoing operations on Udhampur-Kathua faultline, Udhampur police said in a post on X.
In another post, the police said the officers also felicitated the brave personnel, whose extraordinary efforts fructified in killing of two Pakistani Jaish terrorists, in Operation Soan.
The DGP appreciated the coordinated efforts of the security forces and stressed the importance of continued vigilance, operational preparedness and close coordination among all agencies engaged in counter-terrorism operations.
IG Jammu Zone Tejinder Singh accompanied the DGP during the visit and reviewed the operational aspects and security measures along the Udhampur-Kathua belt.
The visit comes amid continued security operations in the Jammu region aimed at tracking and neutralising terrorist networks and preventing attempts to disrupt peace and security in the area.
