
Chadoora/April:19: Efforts to revive the traditional Dhamali dance in the Valley are gaining momentum, as a 10-day Dhamali dance workshop organized by Shukri Shah Dhamali Dance Centre, Gopalpora Chadoora Budgam, successfully concluded at Gogjipathri.
The valedictory function of the workshop was held at Government Higher Secondary School Gogjipathri Chadoora. Principal of the institution, Miraj-ud-Din Pal, attended the event as the Chief Guest, while Chairman of the All Kashmir Folk Artists Association, Shahjahan Ahmad Bhagat graced the occasion as Guest of Honour.
The workshop was with financial assistance under the CFPGS (Cultural Functions and Production Grant Scheme) of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The performances presented on the occasion were highly appreciated by the audience, who described them as a fine blend of artistic excellence, meaningful storytelling, and captivating presentation.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Miraj-ud-Din Pal lauded the efforts of the artists and emphasized that such cultural initiatives play a vital role in preserving and promoting traditional art forms.
President of Shukri Shah Dhamali Dance Centre, Manzoor Ahmad Shah, expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Culture for its continued support and hoped that such assistance under the CFPGS scheme would persist in the future to help revive the traditional Dhamali dance in the Valley.
Certificates of appreciation were also distributed among the participating artists. The programme was ably conducted by Shahjahan Ahmad Bhat.
