Churachandpur, Aug 29: Assam Rifles celebrated Raksha Bandhan with 22 internally displaced women at the Kinepna Women Empowerment Centre, Tuibong, Churachandpur, on August 28, highlighting the values of trust, protection, solidarity and community partnership.

The celebration carried special significance as the women, who have been receiving crochet training at the Kinepna centre, handcrafted Rakhis themselves and tied them on the wrists of Assam Rifles personnel.
The handmade Rakhis transformed a traditional festival ritual into a meaningful expression of resilience and hope. Through their own skills and creativity, the women conveyed a message of gratitude and solidarity while strengthening their bond with the soldiers.
The programme provided an opportunity for Assam Rifles personnel to interact with the women in a warm and supportive environment. The celebration reflected the broader importance of community engagement in rebuilding confidence and strengthening social ties among people affected by displacement.
