
As a part of the 79th Independence Day celebrations, a Divisional Level Event Competition was organized at the Government College of Education M.A Road here on Monday which brought together participants from various Schools, Colleges, and Government Departments across Kashmir Division.
The competition event featured a range of activities including patriotic song and dance performances, quizzes, essay writing, and speeches reflecting the rich history and sacrifices that led to India’s independence
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo was the Chief Guest on the occasion and attended the Valedictory function of Divisional Level Event Competition.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner lauded the efforts of the participants and organizers for their enthusiastic participation and highlighted the importance of celebrating the nation's Independence Day with unity and pride. He emphasized the role of such competitions in fostering patriotism and promoting cultural heritage among the youth.
The DC on the occasion urged the participants to become ambassadors of drug free society and communicate the message of the documentary to their family, friends and other sections of society.
During the event a documentary on drug abuse was released that highlighted the possible ways of returning to normal from the menace of drugs, its addiction. The documentary also showcased healthy and productive lives and the life changing effects of addiction recovery through creative arts, fitness, and nutrition and community services.
Earlier, the Principal host College and Nodal Principal Kashmir Division Colleges Prof. (Dr.) Seema Naz welcomed the participants and also underlined the importance of such events in the backdrop of 79th celebration of independence
Later, the winners from each category were awarded prizes and certificates as a token of recognition for their talent and dedication.
The event also featured addresses from other dignitaries, cultural showcases, and a reaffirmation of the commitment to the nation’s progress and development
