Refuting the allegations leveled against Director SKIMS Prof. A G Ahangar by some so called employees Union of the Soura Medical Institute, the employees of valley’s premier medical facility have said that the allegations leveled against Prof. Ahangar are baseless and misleading.
Reacting to the media reports in which it was alleged that Director SKIMS is indulging in corrupt practices and favoritism, the employees of SKIMS Soura have said that during the Covid-19 Pandemic Prof. Ahnagar and his team worked tirelessly in the war against COVID-19 and it was his able leadership that SKIMS played a crucial role in Covid mitigation process.
Some people are trying to malign the image of SKIMS and its incumbent director Prof. A G Ahangar and these people arerunning from pillar to post to get him removed from the post of Director.
“The allegations leveled against Prof. Ahangar with regard to malpractice and financial misappropriations in the purchase of Covid related machinery and medicine is a hollow attempt to belittle a person of Dr. Ahangar’s stature” ,an employee of SKIMS wishing not to be named.
“It was Dr. Ahangar’s able leadership that made it possible for SKIMS to play a vital role in Covid mitigation”, He added. “There are a handful of officials who are not happy with Prof. Ahangar as he did not allow anybody to behave and be above law and they want him to be removed from the post of Director”, He continued.
Another employee of the institute said that SKIMS has progressed by leaps during the tenure of Dr. Ahangar in the fields of accademics and research and he is the ablest person to hold the charge of the director SKIMS for some more time. “We don’t have an issue with Dr. Ahangar Continued as the head of the Institute as he is an able administrator and a an eminent researcher”,the employee added.
Employees who talked to KPS unanimously said that they favor Prof. Ahangar to be continued as the head of this premier tertiary care health facility as his expersise and experience will go a long way in strengthening the health care services in the Institute.
Pertinently, a few days back some media reports had surfaced in sections of media wherein some employees of SKIMS, whose identities were not known had alleged that incumbent director SKIMS had resorted to misappropriation of funds in the purchang of Beds, Ventilators, PPE Kits and other Covid related machinery and medicine.(KPS)
