
: Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudhary today visited Kangri area of Rajouri to express solidarity with families two persons who lost their lives in a tragic landslide incident recently.
During the visit, the Deputy Chief Minister handed over financial assistance of ₹4 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to the bereaved families.
While expressing deep sorrow over the loss of lives, the Deputy Chief Minister assured the family members of all possible support from the Government. He emphasized that the administration stands shoulder to shoulder with the affected families during this difficult time.
The Deputy Chief Minister also issued on-spot directions to PWD and BRO authorities to ensure proper maintenance of roads so that the general public does not face hardships, especially during rainy season. He asked the concerned departments to take proactive measures for timely restoration of damaged stretches and strengthen vulnerable road portions to avert such incidents in future.
The Deputy Chief Minister reiterated the Government’s commitment towards providing speedy relief, rehabilitation, and long-term infrastructural improvements in landslide-prone regions.
During the visit, ADC Nowshera, Pritam Lal Thapa; SE PWD, Tilak Raj; EXEN PWD Nowshera, Sarver Mehmood; and other concerned officers accompanied the Deputy Chief Minister and briefed him about the ongoing restoration works in the area.
