Social media went abuzz on Monday after unconfirmed reports of Dawood Ibrahim being poisoned and admitted to a hospital in Karachi in a critical condition .This isn’t first time that unconfirmed news of Dawood Ibrahim being critical or dead been circulated .If one takes into account such reports ,India’s most-wanted criminal must have died multiple times .Some say that Dawood was hospitalized due to serious health complications ,two days ago, sources told India Today TV. The sources said that he was being kept under tight security inside the hospital .He is the only patient on his floor and only top hospital authorities and his close family members have access to him ,they added .The life of Dawood Ibrahim ,the mastermind of the 1993 Mumbai blasts which claimed the lives of257 people and injuries to 1400 people and who is most wanted gangster in India ,has been shrouded in secrecy for the past many years .India has said umpteen times that it has irrefutable evidence that Dawood is based in Karachi ,but the Pakistan government is declining that he was in Pakistan.
Thus this is the reason that Pakistan is currently also hiding his being poisoned or he being dead .That fact is that this criminal and dreaded gangster is enjoying protection and is being given a VIP treatment .But the Pakistani establishment is always denying his being in Pakistan. But ,the infection did take the life of his nephew Siraj Kaskar in Karachi .In 2017,there were reports that Dawood Ibrahim died of a heart attack .Some reports suggested he had a brain tumor that led to his worsening health .However ,the reports proved to be false .His right hand man ,Chota Shakeel ,said the underworld don was in good health .Presently the claims gained traction following a late –night video from Pakistan youTuber who ,relying on unverified social media reports ,speculated on gangster Dawood Ibrahim’s poisoning and hospitalization. The YouTuber further connected these rumors to an abrupt internet shutdown in Pakistan.. Amid speculation about alleged poisoning and hospitalization of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim in Pakistan, credible intelligence sources have debunked these rumours ,which emerged on social media on December 17.
However ,authoritative sources dismissed these assertions ,attributing the connectivity disruptions to a virtual meeting of the opposition Pakistan –Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI).Despite international sanctions ,Dawood Ibrahim and his family have enjoyed the hospitality of Pakistan’s deep state for several decades .Revealing insights into Ibrahim’s lifestyle emerge from intercepted calls between the D Company leader and his associate Farooq .Absconding from Indian ,the law enforcement agencies and evading global sanctions ,67 year old Ibrahim is believed to be involved in activities such as international narcotics smuggling ,illegal arms trade ,real estate ,money laundering and terrorism .Underworld don Dawood Ibrahim was admitted to a hospital in Karachi due to serious health complications ,sources said .Rumors surrounding his health and death are common .There was another rumor on social media in 2016 that Dawood Ibrahim got gangrene on his legs and doctors might have had to amputate them .
But these reports turned to be false .Dawood Ibrahim runs an organized crime syndicate – informally called D –Company –which he established in Mumbai in 1970’s.His criminal activities include murder ,extortion ,targeted killing ,drug trafficking, and terrorism .India and US have labeled Dawood as global terrorist since 2003.A reward of dollar 25 million had been announced by US for information leading to his capture due to his suspected involvement in 1993 Mumbai attacks .
In 2011 he was listed as number three on the FBI’s ‘’The world’s 10 Most Wanted Fugatives’ ’list .Despite being one of the most wanted men in the world ,Dawood has managed to evade capture for decades. His influence extends beyond criminal activities and he has been linked to financing Bollywood films .He is also believed to have association with film celebrities .He remains a fugitive with his whereabouts a subject of intense speculation .Presently several reports on social media emerged that Dawood Ibrahim was poisoned ,but there was no confirmation of the same ,as per information shared by his aide .The Mumbai police were trying to gain more information on the hospitalization of the underworld don from his relatives Alishah Parkar and Sajid Wagle .In short it seems that Dawood Ibrahim the most wanted criminal has been poisoned by the ISI of Pakistan as he is now a burden and liability on Pakistan. However only time will tell the truth about the poisoning or death of Dawood/dying Dawood.
