Despite the Intense Heat, the Youths in the Valley are seen playing sports with great enthusiasm in the playgrounds till morning and evening and the same Youth Services and Sports Department, Budgam, is also seen to be very busy in Promoting the sports sector these days and under this link, the department organized Competitions under the Inter-Zonal District Level Cycling Boys Girls Category and this race started at 8:30 am from the Gariend Stop of the Ring Road and ended at the Railway Station Crossing and this race was Flagged off by the In charges of Sports Activities at the District Office, Shakeel-ur-Rehman Lone & Ghulam Hassan Khanday along with Police Officials in the presence of other officials.
It should be noted that various competitions are being played across the district under the Supervision of District Youth Services Sports Officer Ghulam Hassan Lone .Although the boys and girls tried their best to outdo each other during the race, the boys u-14 from Narbal Zone Aqib Noor won first,Samiullah from Zone Narbal second, and Mohd Hanan third positions in the category, while the Girls u-14 Azra won first, Shaira Nazir second, and Rabia third positions from Zone Narbal .In u-17 Girls Category all ist three positions goes to Zone Narbal and in u-19 Toiba ist, Zoofisha second & Munazah Firdous third position respectively. At the end, a Closing Ceremony was held in which Certificates and Trophies were distributed among the Players.e distributed among the players.
It is to be noted that sports activities are at their Peak in all the 12 zones of the district and after the Inter-School, the Children’s are busy preparing for the Inter-District Level Competitions and these Inter-Zonal Events are also going to be organized in the Coming days.
