The Department of Youth Services and Sports Srinagar has launched a vibrant series of activities under its proactive Sports Calendar across the city. Hundreds of students, both boys and girls, participated enthusiastically in cleanliness drives and sports events held under the initiatives of “World Environment Day WED 2025” and the “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
In parallel, inter-zonal district-level competitions in volleyball, kho-kho, and kabaddi for girls U-17 years of age concluded successfully at GHSS Zadibal, witnessing the participation of over 200 girls.This segment of the Sports Calendar was aimed at fostering a spirit of sportsmanship and environmental awareness among youth across all age groups.Ghulam Hassan Lone, DYSSO Srinagar, visited the venues and supervised the tournament proceedings.
He was accompanied by the Zonal Physical Education Officers and other officials from the Activity Section of DYSSO Srinagar.The Department reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing holistic development through sports, health, and civic responsibility.
