Jammu, Jan 16: The Department of Youth Services & Sports (DYSS) today presented a comprehensive roadmap for youth engagement before Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, outlining a year-long calendar of sports, fitness, cultural, and youth-centric activities across Jammu & Kashmir.

The high-level meeting was attended by senior officials, including Principal Secretary Culture Brij Mohan Sharma, Commissioner Secretary YS&S Yasha Mudgal, DG Youth Services & Sports Anuradha Gupta, and representatives from the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports.
The Chief Secretary directed time-bound, outcome-oriented implementation of the activity calendars, emphasizing national and international sporting events, robust awareness campaigns, and uniform distribution of activities across all districts. He also highlighted digital empowerment, urging the scaling of registrations on the My BHARAT portal from 5.5 lakh to 20 lakh and creation of automated alerts for youth participation.
DYSS showcased a five-tier tournament structure, engaging over 36.45 lakh participants in 2025–26 across sports and non-sports initiatives like yoga, plantation drives, and social campaigns. Notable achievements include J&K’s overall Taekwondo national championship and international medals at the ISF World School Games and Paris 2024 Paralympics.
Cultural and innovation initiatives, such as “Dastaan-e-Mic” and the “Khel Khel Mein” podcast, alongside volunteer engagement through My BHARAT and Bharat Scouts & Guides, were highlighted. The roadmap also includes a digital athlete ecosystem, sports science capacity building, and plans for a world-class Sports Science & Injury Centre in J&K.
Secretary J&K Sports Council Nuzhat Gul presented detailed plans for January–March 2026, including national, UT-level, and community-based events, targeting 8 lakh youth across 50 disciplines.
The Chief Secretary appreciated the inclusive, data-driven approach and reiterated the government’s commitment to nurturing talent, promoting fitness, and empowering youth as key stakeholders in the UT’s development.
