Srinagar: Reacting to reports that Indian Railways was serving tea in Main Bhi Chowkidar branded cups to passengers in the New Delhi Kathgodam Shatabdi Express, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti on Friday alleged that the Election Commission (EC) was a toothless tiger, ‘acting selectively without any integrity’.
“Chai par charcha. EC is a toothless tiger acting selectively without any integrity,” Ms Mehbooba, who is the former chief minister in previous PDP-BJP government, wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
The incident was highlighted by a Twitter user, who posted a picture of a teacup. The post went viral on social media with people claiming it to be a violation of Model Code of Conduct ahead of the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls.
After the outcry, the cups were later withdrawn by the Railways.Main Bhi Chowkidar initiative was launched by BJP earlier this month, and focuses on how people from different walks of life are guarding the country against various ills.
