
Eid ul Adha , also called as the Greater Eid is one of the biggest holiday sacrifice celebrated in Islam ,this Eid honors the sacrifice of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son, According to our holy Quran Ismail saw a dream in which Allah asked him to sacrifice his son to show his obedience, loyalty , devotion and love towards his God , so as an obedience to Allah's command, before Ibrahim could sacrifice his son , a lamb was provided by Allah which he was supposed to kill in place of his son because of his willingness to sacrifice his son in the name of Allah. This command from Allah was a test of prophet Ibrahim's willingness and commitment to obey his lords command without question therefore this Eid-ul-Adha means the festival of sacrifice.
On this very Eid the Muslims all over the globe sacrifice that means Qurbani may be a sheep ,lamb ,goat ,bull, and a camel etc. The act of Qurbani consists of slaughtering an animal as a sacrifice to mark this occasion in remembrance of prophet Ibrahim's sacrifice for Allah SWT. The days of the sacrifice are total 3 days that is from 10th to 12th of Dhu-al-hijjah.
The Qurbani meat is distributed in three equal proportions , one third is for you and for your family, one third is for friends and the third is for the one who are in need. Eid-ul-Adha send a simple message of piety, charity and equality.
The Qur'an states that, "there meat will not reach Allah, nor will there blood ,but what reaches him is piety from you".
So many people misunderstand ,but let's tell you that Eid-ul-Adha is not about shedding blood to please God but one’s ability to give up something that they hold dear in devotion to God.
So on this Eid do whatever has been commanded , let's All be true Muslims.
On the very day of Eid on the very conclusion of the Eid prayers and the sermon, Muslims embrace and exchange greetings with one another, visit one another and some of the people take advantage opportunity to invite their friends , neighbors ,coworkers and classmates etc to there Eid festivities to better celebrate Eid with full of happiness.
Besides after the conclusion of the Eid prayers the sacrifices (qurbani) is done while as the sacrifices done before are not counted as Qurbani.
So some of the Brief Guide to the Rules of the Qurbani are
Qurbani must be given on the 10th, 11th or 12th days of Dhul-Hijjah.
Sacrifices can only be made after the Eid prayer (sacrifices made before do not count as Qurbani).
Animals for sacrifice must meet minimum age and health requirements.
Qurbani sacrifices must be given in three shares - one for you, one for family or friends and one for the poor and needy.
So let's all do what ever has been commanded by our Allah SWT and let's not forget the poor on this very occasion of Eid do celebrate Eid together with poor people and let's remember the poor as
