Emergency response drill held in Baramulla

June 17, 2026 | BK News Service

Baramulla, June 16: Security forces and civil administration agencies on Tuesday conducted a large-scale emergency response drill in Baramulla district to assess preparedness and coordination during potential crises, including incidents involving law and order disturbances, violent protests and emergency response requirements.

Officials said the exercise witnessed participation from multiple security and civil agencies, which jointly simulated various challenging scenarios requiring coordinated action and rapid deployment of resources.
As part of the drill, mock situations involving slogan shouting, tyre burning and the gathering of a hostile crowd were enacted to test the response capabilities of security personnel and their ability to manage escalating situations while maintaining public safety.
The exercise also focused on crowd-control measures, communication systems, inter-agency coordination and emergency deployment protocols aimed at dealing with unforeseen situations.
During the simulation, security personnel carried out standard operating procedures for handling protest-like situations, dispersing unruly mobs and restoring normalcy in a controlled environment.
Civil administration departments, emergency services and security agencies participated in the drill to evaluate response times, coordination mechanisms and operational readiness during emergencies.
Officials said such exercises are periodically conducted to identify gaps in preparedness, improve coordination among agencies and strengthen the overall emergency response framework.
The drill was completed successfully and concluded with a review of operational procedures and response strategies adopted during the exercise.
