Jammu, Oct 19: Police have arrested father-son duo and solved the case involving the disappearance and murder of a Special Police Officer (SPO) in Kishtwar district.
A police spokesman said here SPO Bashir Ahmed was reported missing along with his service weapon from Police Picket Trigam on October 15 by his family members. Upon receiving the information, an intensive search operation involving multiple teams was launched.
"On the following day, during the search operation, police recovered the SPO's weapon and subsequently his body from a pit in a nallah where it had been buried in the Seran Wani area of Trigam forest," he said.
The spokesman said following the discovery, a case was registered at Police Station Kishtwar under relevant sections of law.
During the investigation, two suspects, identified as Bashir Ahmed Dar and Nazir Ahmed Dar, both residents of Seran Wani, Trigam, were identified.
“Their questioning revealed the conspiracy and motive behind the SPO's murder,” the police said.
"The weapon used in the crime and the deceased's concealed belongings were recovered based on the disclosures made by the accused," the spokesman said.
He added that further proceedings into the case are underway.
