Poonch, Oct 15: Social activist and educator Fiza Batool of Surankot Poonch has urged students, teachers, and society at large to strengthen relationships and work collectively to fight the growing drug menace, warning that continued inaction could have devastating effects on future generations.
Addressing a gathering of students and faculty, Batool emphasized the importance of healthy student-teacher relationships as a foundation for awareness and guidance. She highlighted that teachers play a critical role in identifying early signs of substance abuse and mentoring students toward positive choices.
“Drugs are not just an individual problem; they are a societal issue that can destroy generations if left unchecked,” she said. Batool urged parents, educators, and community members to remain vigilant, support at-risk youth, and actively participate in awareness campaigns.
The activist also called for organizing workshops, counseling sessions, and interactive programs in schools and colleges to educate students about the dangers of drug abuse and the avenues available for help and rehabilitation.
She concluded by stressing that combating the drug menace requires a united effort from all sections of society, with prevention, guidance, and timely intervention as the keys to protecting the youth and securing a healthy future for the community.
