Kashmir is losing its title paradise gradually with the passage of time while other regions are evolving our tranquiling paradise is turning into a desert. All the elements are un-rested here. Among the issues food wastage is one of the burning issue which is being ignored without any concern. Both at the individual level or collectively nobody is worried about this dangerous and sinful issue. Every year around the world 1.4 billion tons of food is lost or wasted, that is 1/3 of all food produced for the human consumption. Our Kashmir valley is leading in all negative realms whether its drug, corruption, conflicts or the food wastage. It is being estimated that 20-25% food is being wasted in Kashmir annually from the total consumption. The major demerit of sound economy is extravagancy which is a curse. Our Islam too prohibited us from such acts. Allah says in Quran, “and eat and drink be not extravagant; surely Allah does not love the extravagant.” Allah says in Quran the man after his death will be questioned as per the abilities and resources he was owning in the world, from such messages the faith of a believer can be tested, because the one who strongly believe Allah and his revelation will refrain from extravagancy. Kashmir is the valley of elites, intermediates and marginal’s, but the traditional and affectionate bond that these groups were sharing is fading-out slowly. The ethics is disappearing. But the economic competition persists and is growing hastly. Instead of living the peaceful and dignified life people here sold the peace and dignity for the material progress. 

The main problem with Kashmir is the lack of cultural unity and any society where there is lack of cultural integrity the always lack progress. In Kashmir whether we talk about the language, beliefs, customs or politics everywhere we lack the unity. Form south, center to north the culture fails to perpetuate. Kashmir is also the valley of custom-innovation, wherein affluent invent the custom and lower sections are forced to practice the which ultimately leads to bankruptcy. In Kashmir, the biggest source of food wastage is the wedding as Kashmir is known for its famous cuisines. The cuisines are the manifold forms of single beef or mutton to please the human greed/eyes otherwise a small bit of food is enough to satisfy the human need. If the human hunger is quenched by some small stuffs what happens to the wasted food? Because of false value system and our wedding become the source of huge mess. Now, if we will look at the cons of the food that is being prepared arbitrarily we find the environmental pollution like pedestrian full of dirt, polluted water-bodies besides we are wasting the economy directly and the most important thing we play with the nature and the creator. Before throwing away the food into the streets think you’re snatching and throwing someone else’s plate for which you Have to pay back, because universe works on the principle of cause and effect. There are people who suffer and die due to starvation at the same when the food is being put into the garbage or on the river banks. If the same food is prepared under planned conditions at a time we can execute multiple social, human and religious acts. We can save our future, our environment, we can serve poor and protect the dignities and the most important we can please our creator. Life is a test till we breath and the day we stop breathing we complete this test. The life is a purposeful gift doesn’t misinterpret it by the reason. The life solely depends upon the value structure. A value is nothing but an idea or importance of the object which drives all of our energies. We utilize our energy according to the value we carry in our head. What is valuable for you may not be for your brother even if u are living under the same roof, That is why you prefer education and he prefers the business it’s because of your value for education and his value for business otherwise circumstances are common to you both. We need to adjust our value structure for the social, human and religious betterment. Today we are facing the Islam-phobia, what is the reason? Neither is Islam nor the Islamic doctrines responsible, it’s because of the mis-interpretations of the religious doctrines and nurturing of false value system that gave rise to Islam o-phobia otherwise Islam is a universal applicable religion. Action without introspection is the inhumane action. Before you act think of pros and cons.
