Imphal, Sep 22: In separate intelligence-based joint operations, the Indian Army and Assam Rifles formations under Spear Corps, in coordination with Manipur Police, recovered 15 weapons, ammunition and other war-like stores from Bishnupur and Imphal West districts.

In Bishnupur district, a joint team recovered three weapons concealed in the backwaters of Loktak Lake. The recovery was made during a coordinated search operation based on specific intelligence inputs.
In a separate operation, security forces recovered a cache of 12 weapons along the Akham–Lamdeng Road in Imphal West.
The operations were conducted as part of ongoing efforts by security forces to detect and recover illegally held arms and ammunition in vulnerable areas of the state.
The recovered weapons and other war-like stores were taken into custody for further investigation, while the circumstances surrounding their concealment and intended use are being examined by the concerned agencies.
The coordinated operations highlight continued cooperation between the Army, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police in strengthening security and maintaining stability in the region.
Security forces reiterated their commitment to preventing the movement and proliferation of illegal weapons and supporting efforts aimed at maintaining peace and security across Manipur.
