Four New Railway Lines Proposed for Kashmir

Jammu, Feb 19: The Northern Railway is conducting final surveys for four new lines: Baramulla–Uri, Sopore–Kupwara, Anantnag–Bijbehara–Pahalgam, and Kakapora–Shopian. Landowners will receive compensation as per law, with alignment finalised in consultation with district administrations. Environmental safeguards, including mitigation of deforestation and ecological disruption, will be implemented during project execution.
