
In line with the nationwide observance of the Cycling Event under the Fit India Initiative, the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Ganderbal, successfully conducted a district-wide cycling event exclusively for its field staff.The event witnessed active participation and energetic celebration across all zones of the district.
Acting on the directions of the Joint Director YSS Kashmir, the initiative aimed to promote the values of physical fitness and well-being among the public by setting an example through departmental staff engagement.The cycling rallies were conducted simultaneously at zonal levels, reflecting a unified spirit towards a healthier lifestyle.
In Zone Ganderbal, the event kicked off from the iconic Clock Tower at Duderhama and concluded at the Government College of Physical Education Gadoora, covering a noteworthy route. Zone Tullamulla flagged off the event from the Central University of Kashmir, with the endpoint being Government Higher Secondary School, Tullamulla. Zone Kangan’s rally began at the Zonal Physical Education Office Kijpara and ended at Barwala, while Zone Hariganiwan’s cycling route started from the Zonal Office and concluded at the main market of Hariganiwan.
The district-level participation not only added vibrancy to the national campaign but also effectively conveyed the message of adopting an active lifestyle and avoiding sedentary habits to build a fit and resilient India.
