
Mar 30: In its continued efforts to engage youth in constructive and sporting activities, police in Ganderbal inaugurated the Police Premier Football Tournament under the Civic Action Program at Govt. Physical Education College Gadoora, Stadium.
The tournament was formally inaugurated by SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal-JKPS. On the occasion, Principal Govt. Physical Education College, Gadoora Dr. Showkat Hussain, DySP Hqrs Ganderbal Shri Umer Urfan-JKPS, DySP DAR DPL Ganderbal Shri Altaf Khan-JKPS, along with other senior police officers, were present.
A total of 16 Teams from across the district are participating in the tournament, reflecting the enthusiasm and sporting spirit among the youth of Ganderbal. The Inaugural Match was played between FC Manigam and Comrade FC, marking an energetic start to the tournament.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Ganderbal emphasized the importance of sports in promoting discipline, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle among youth. He reiterated that such initiatives aim to strengthen police-public relations and provide a positive platform for young talent to showcase their abilities.
Police remains committed to organizing such events to channelize the energy of youth towards constructive venues and to foster a sense of unity and sportsmanship in the district.
