As part of ‘Swachta hi Seva’ campaign, the Students of Govt Degree College (GDC) Dooru led by Principal GH Thakur and accompanied by teaching and non-teaching faculty today took up the cleaning of Vitasta Spring.
Principal GDC Dooru said that in the run up to Gandhi Jayanti, following the ideals of Gandhi ji, the college today took to cleaning of this important water body. He said that the message of Gandhi ji to ensure cleanliness in our surroundings is as valid today as it was then.
He said that Swachta hi Seva, the slogan of Swachh Bharat Mission is a reminder to every citizen, that ensuring cleanliness around themselves is a great service to mankind. He said to inculcate the same among the students such drives are being organized by the college.
It is in place to mention that various GDCs in the district have taken to cleaning of water bodies in their vicinities in a similar manner.
