
In a spirited celebration of athleticism, determination, and empowerment, the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Zone Hardpanzoo, successfully concluded a three-day Inter-School Kabaddi Tournament for Girls, held from May 26 to 28, 2025. The event showcased the enthusiasm and talent of young female athletes from various government and private schools across the region.
The tournament was inaugurated by the Headmaster of HS Arizal, who was joined by Farooq Ahmed Sheikh, Incharge Activity ZPEO Hardpanzoo, and Tasaduk Hussain, Overall Incharge, along with other zonal officials. The dignitaries commended the initiative for promoting physical health, discipline, teamwork, and self-confidence among schoolgirls.
Over the course of the event, participants displayed impressive coordination, resilience, and tactical skills. The competition was categorized into three age groups — U/14, U/17, and U/19 — and featured several high-energy, closely contested matches.
In the Under-14 category, IEI Arizal claimed victory over HS Arizal with a decisive 10–5 win.
In the Under-17 final, HS Dachan showcased their dominance by defeating HSS Hardpanzoo with a strong 15–5 performance.
The Under-19 category witnessed a nail-biting finish, where HSS Drung edged out HSS Hardpanzoo by a single point, finishing 9–8.
Despite the challenging heatwave conditions, the young athletes pushed through with determination, making the tournament a testament to their passion, resilience, and sportsmanship.
At the closing ceremony, the Headmaster of HS Arizal applauded the efforts and dedication of the players. “This tournament has brought to light the immense talent and tenacity of our young girls,” he said. “Their performance, even in tough conditions, is truly inspiring. We must continue to provide such platforms for them to grow and excel.”
The event stood not only as a sports competition but also as a powerful message of women’s empowerment through sports, paving the way for more inclusive and active youth engagement in the region.
