The authorities on Friday ordered winter vacation in all the Government Educational Institutions including recognized Private Schools up to Higher Secondary Level functioning in the Kashmir Division and winter zone of Jammu Division from December 21 till February 28.

As per order issued by B.K Singh, Administrative Secretary School education department, a copy of which lies with news agency KDC reads that "Online classes will be voluntarily in nature for both Teachers and students.”
“It is hereby ordered that all the Government Educational Institutions including recognized Private Schools up to Higher Secondary Level functioning in the Kashmir Division and winter zone of Jammu Division shall observe winter vacation w.e.f 21u of December, 2020 to 28 of February, 2021,” reads the order, a copy. However, winter tutorials for class-11 to 12 and online classes will be voluntarily in nature for both teachers and students shall be held by strictly adhering to the SOPs of Covd-19 issued by the Government from time to time." reads the order.
“Any default on part of the Head of the School(s) in observance of the calendar and SOPs of Covd-19 shall attract strict action under rules,” the order added.
