GPA holds key meet to promote interfaith harmony, cultural unity

The Global Punjabi Association (GPA), a cultural organization that aims to promote interfaith harmony and unity within the Punjabi community worldwide, held a meeting at the UT Guest House in Chandigarh today.
The meeting was chaired by S. Iqbal Singh Ji Lalpura, Patron of GPA and moderated by Col. Jaibans Singh, Vice President, GPA.
The delegates included eminent personalities from diverse backgrounds including senior Army veterans, former IAS officers, academicians, lawyers, corporate professionals, businessmen, social workers etc.
The meeting focussed on promoting interfaith harmony and cultural unity within the Punjabi community and identification of actions required to strengthen the concept of Punjab, Punjabi, and Punjabiyat and celebration of the shared culture, language, and legacy of Punjab
The delegates presented their views on ways to revive the Punjabi language, culture, and traditions that grew from the region's multicultural villages. They also explored initiatives to help youth reconnect with their ancestral roots and Punjabi identity.
The guiding light of the meeting was GPA's motto, "Celebrate that which unites, understand that which differs," that reflects its commitment to fostering unity and understanding among diverse Punjabi community worldwide.
About Global Punjabi Association
Founded in 2022, under the patronage of prominent Punjabi Social worket, S. Iqbal Singh Lalpura, the GPA rose from the awareness that Hindus, Sikhs and all other Punjabis were unified in their belief until 1839. It was said that "Punjab Vasda Guruan De Na Tee." Sanatan Dharam had strong roots and influence in Punjab and seamless integrated with Sikh religious thought and philosophy. The divisions have been externally influenced due to some self-serving interests.
Established by community leaders, scholars, retired officials, and youth, GPA was born to rebuild Punjabiyat – our shared language, values, and identity.
GPA has active units in Punjab, Delhi, Mumbai, Kashmir, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, UK, Canada, Australia, and other locations
