A Bomb Disposal Squad defused a grenade which was recovered in downtown Srinagar on Friday.
A senior police officer said security forces found a cooker wrapped in a suspicious bag at Khwaja Bazaar Chowk following which the bomb disposal squad of the security forces was called in.
Report said a grenade was found inside the pressure cooker and a grenade lever was recovered from the residue after it was blasted.
The officer further said that the traffic which was suspended earlier has been restored.
The suspicious bag containing the pressure cooker with some wires visible outside the bag was found today triggering panic in the area, officials said.
