Handwara, Sep 29: Police in Handwara has organized a Women’s Cricket Tournament at DPL Ground, Handwara, with the objective of providing women cricket players from different schools a common platform to participate, compete and showcase their sporting talent.

Six women cricket teams from different schools of Handwara area are participating in the tournament. The matches are being played in the T-10 format on knock- out basis, with one match scheduled each day. The tournament will continue for eight days, providing the participating teams an opportunity to compete in a healthy sporting environment and promote sportsmanship, teamwork and team spirit.
The participating teams include Manarch Secondary School Handwara, Prime Institute Secondary School Kulangam, My New School Drugmulla, Elvis Garden Public School Handwara, Hill Grange Secondary School Handwara and Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Handwara
The tournament is being organized by Terrific Trio Trust, headquarters at Sopore and Monarch Secondary School Handwara in collaboration with Handwara Police who is also extending assistance in the conduct of the tournament at District Police Lines Kulangam Handwara.
The initiative reflects the efforts of J&K Police to facilitate greater participation of women in sports and provide young girls with opportunities to develop and showcase their sporting talent in a positive and supportive environment.
