As, these two occasions come together, they remind us that true happiness lies in sharing, caring, and creating a world filled with compassion, understanding, and unity

As, I sat reflecting on the idea of happiness and what it truly means in our lives, an interesting thought came to my mind. This year, the International Day of Happiness and Eid are being observed almost at the same time. This coincidence feels meaningful. Even though these occasions come from different backgrounds, they seem to carry a deeply similar message. Both remind us of peace, kindness, and the importance of spreading happiness among others.

The celebration of the International Day of Happiness takes place across the globe with the aim of reminding people that happiness holds great value in human life. It is beyond the feeling of joy or the experience of pleasure. It encourages people to build lives filled with peace, contentment, and emotional well-being. It also teaches us to create a positive environment around us where people feel respected, supported, and understood. In a world that often feels divided, this message becomes even more important.
In the fast-paced life of the present day, every person is occupied with their own tasks and problems. In the middle of all this, it is very easy to forget the small things that can actually make a real difference. Doing small things like speaking kind words to someone, helping someone in need, or even smiling from the heart can actually change the whole day of another person in life. The essence of happiness actually lies in sharing it with others.
At the same time, Eid brings a message that feels close to this idea. After a month of fasting during Ramadan, Eid arrives as a time of joy, gratitude, and celebration. It marks the end of a period filled with patience, self-discipline, and spiritual reflection. For many, Eid is associated with new clothes, delicious food, and gatherings with family and friends. Along with these celebrations, there exists a deeper meaning that gives Eid its true beauty.
Eid helps us spread the joy of Eid with the people around us. It helps us remember the people who may not be as fortunate as we are, living without the basic amenities of life. This is reflected when we practice Zakat-ul-Fitr, which is charity given before the Eid prayer. With this, people in need are helped, allowing them to enjoy Eid with the same respect as we do, as the joy of Eid is complete when everyone is happy.
When I think about these two occasions together, the connection between them feels very natural. On one side, the International Day of Happiness speaks about the importance of joy, peace, and kindness in theory. On the other side, Eid provides a practical example of how these values can be lived in everyday life. It turns ideas into actions and reminds us that real happiness lies in caring for others.
Helping someone in need always gives us a feeling that cannot be explained in words. It gives us a feeling of satisfaction that lasts long. It is touching to see the smile of relief on the face of the person whom we helped with kindness. It is meaningful to experience such moments, which remind us of the real importance of helping others.
Sometimes, people think that happiness is achieved by accomplishing great things or by having many possessions. In reality, happiness is often the result of small, meaningful deeds. Feeding someone, supporting a family in need, or just being there for someone during a difficult time may give a feeling of peace that cannot be bought with material goods. These small deeds help create connections between people, as well as a sense of belonging.
Eid is a meaningful opportunity for people to engage in these values on a large scale. Families unite, people visit one another, and the community is alive with the joy and warmth of the season. There is laughter, companionship, and a feeling of unity in the air. Along with this celebration comes the realization that everyone should feel included, and this is what makes Eid so special.
The International Day of Happiness also has an important message for the global community as a whole. It tells us that everyone, regardless of who they are, deserves happiness and respect. It tells the world that it needs to move in the direction of compassion, understanding, and caring for one another. In a world where people are becoming increasingly distant because of the differences they see in one another, messages such as these bring people closer together.
As, I reflect on both of these days, the message that they are sending to the world is clear: they are both telling us that we need to care for others, live in peace, and spread happiness in whatever way we can.
In our daily lives, opportunities to make a difference may seem limited. At the same time, small chances to bring happiness to others exist all around us. A simple gesture, a few kind words, or a moment of support can create a positive impact that goes far beyond what we imagine. These actions may appear small, yet their effect can be deeply meaningful.
In the end, what truly matters is the way we treat the people around us. The happiness we share, the help we offer, and the peace we spread give real meaning to our lives. These are the things that stay with us and define who we are as individuals.
As, we celebrate Eid and observe the International Day of Happiness, this shared message becomes worth carrying forward. It encourages us to become kinder, more understanding, and more willing to help others. When happiness is shared, it becomes more meaningful, more powerful, and far more beautiful.
