Medziphema, Oct 1: Havildar Jangkhokai Kuki, who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty at Pangsau Pass in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh on September 29, was laid to rest with full military honours at Medziphema in Nagaland.
The General Officer Commanding (GOC), Spear Corps, and Director General Assam Rifles Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, along with senior officers and personnel, paid solemn tributes to the fallen soldier and laid wreaths in his honour.
The ceremony was attended by military personnel, dignitaries and members of the local community, who gathered to honour Havildar Kuki’s courage, dedication and devotion to duty.
Lt Gen Lakhera and all ranks of Assam Rifles expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family and conveyed solidarity with them during the difficult period.
Havildar Kuki was remembered for his courage and selfless service while performing his duties in a challenging operational environment. His supreme sacrifice was described as a testament to the highest traditions of the armed forces.
