Hazrat Baba Ji Sahib Larvi RA who's real name was Ubaidullah, was born at Sanjoda Sharif in Balakote tehsil of Hazara district presently in Pakistan in 1920 AH. Many saints and pious God-fearing people of the time had predicted about the birth of this noble, devoted, reverent and God-fearing son in the Bijran family who would enlighten thousands of people later in his life. Prominent among those predictors was Hazrat Mian Noor Mohammad (RA). When Baba ji sahib was yet to born in his mother's womb, his mother fell ill and his father Mian Fazal Gull who was worried due to her illness went to Hazrat Hafiz Mian Gull a saintly figure of the time to seek prayers for the wellbeing of his spouse.

Hafiz Mian gave him good news about the coming of a God-fearing and virtuous guest at his home, who will be a beacon of light in the company of Aulias. Only few days later Baba ji Larvi was born and when he reached the age of four, he lost his father Mian Fazal Gull thus becoming an orphan. After his birth a pious person Molvi Dada sahib turned to his mother and advised her not to annoy, irritate and vex him for trivial things in life and act with restraint in raising him. Right from his childhood, Baba ji had no affinity and liking for games, supports and other insignificant and trifling activities. Instead he loved solitude, loneliness, eating less, talking less and sleeping less.
He worked hard during day time while spent dark nights in worship and remembering his Lord. These are the true virtues of a God fearing saint who show no deviation towards getting fame but only aim to enlighten and rule over the hearts and minds of people. From Baba Nizamuddin Kiyanvi (RA) a veteran saint of huge stature, Baba ji sahib got spiritual training who had allegiance to Naqshbandi and Mijadadi Sufi schools. When Baba ji reached thirty in 1892, his spiritual guide and mentor ordered him to leave for Babanagri Wangat in Kangan area of Kashmir which is a spiritual centre for thousands of believers. The fans of Baba ji number in lakhs and are spread in all corners of the globe. During his life time, Baba ji had got the permission from his spiritual guide Mian Nizamuddin Kiyanvi to celebrate his Urs on 7th of June every year which is still a tradition there in which countless number of devotees attend the annual urs coming from Pir Panchal areas as well as from across the borders.
Baba ji sahib has authored many poetry collections while Malfozati Nizamia and Asrari Kabeeri are considered as masterpiece in mysticism for the guidance and teaching of people. At the age of sixty three, Baba ji sahib left this mortal world on Shabi Bharat day about which he had given many clues in his own poetry. The number of his disciples are in hundreds, however his first disciple is Hazrat Haji Nooran Shah (RA) while his beloved son Hazrat Mian Nizamuddin Larvi (RA) is his last disciple. He had three sons and equal number of daughters. Two of his daughter died during their early years, while among the sons only Mian Nizamuddin Larvi was born at Babanagri Wangat on 25th March 1896 who has left this temporary world on 10th August 1972. When Baba ji sahib was permitted by his spiritual guide to visit few shrines in Kashmir, during his visit he reached present day Babanagri Wangat and on right banks of the stream he offered Asr prayers on a big rock standing there. After finishing the obligatory prayers he kept himself busy in remembering his Lord by moving the beads of rosary. Suddenly he noticed a dark stain on his Chadar/ traditional woollen cloak worn by Kashmiris during winter.
He tried to make it immaculate by washing in water but couldn't and approached his spiritual mentor to seek a cause of it. It was at this juncture that Baba ji sahib was informed that he has reached his final destination where he has to spent the rest part of his life in worshiping God and preaching people. At first Baba ji had shown his reluctance to move there in view of the diverse and different linguistic and cultural identities of people there but upon coercion by the spiritual mentor he had to abide by his commands and orders. Further he was told by the mentor that people from all corners will converge there who will teach their languages to each other and make it a huge spiritual centre.
Even today people from all corners of the globe particularly from Pir Panchal areas visit the shrine of Baba ji at Babanagri Wangat round the year and on Urs occasions the gathering turns out so tremendous that vehicles remain parked from Preng area of Kangan upto the main shrine. After Baba ji the duty of caretaking of the Khanqah was bestowed to Mian Nizamuddin who later passed it on to Mian Bashir Ahmad Larvi ra. Presently the caretaker or Sajadah Nishin of the revered Dargah is Mian Altaf Ahmad Larvi. Serving of food and other eatables remain continued throughout the year there and the grand langar of this Dargah is famous across the state.
