
Kohima, Oct 3: A delegation of the Higher Command Course (HCC), comprising officers from the three services of the Indian Armed Forces, visited Headquarters Spear Corps and received a detailed briefing on the Corps’ operational profile and responsibilities.
During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the operational environment, missions and functioning of Spear Corps, with emphasis on the challenges associated with its Area of Responsibility (AOR).
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) Spear Corps interacted with the visiting officers and addressed them on the operational nuances of the formation’s AOR. He also highlighted the complexities involved in managing security challenges in the region and the importance of coordinated planning and effective leadership.
The interaction provided the HCC officers an opportunity to gain first-hand insights into operational planning, command responsibilities and the dynamics of the region.
The visit formed part of the professional exposure and learning programme of the Higher Command Course, aimed at enhancing the understanding of senior officers across the three services and strengthening jointness in operational planning and execution.
The engagement also underscored the Indian Armed Forces’ emphasis on tri-service interaction, professional military education and sharing of operational experience among commanders.
