Kalashray Cultural and Social National Institution, established in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, has been dedicated to the promotion, propagation, and preservation of Indian classical music for over a decade. The institution has consistently provided a prestigious platform for emerging artists alongside renowned national and international performers. This initiative helps these young talents establish themselves at the national level.
Continuing this tradition, Kalashray is set to organize the "Himalayan Cultural Festival" on March 21, 22, and 23, 2025, at Leechi Bagh, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. This grand three-day festival aims to showcase the diverse folk arts, traditional culture, handicrafts, paintings, rural organic products, and cuisines from various Himalayan regions.
The festival will feature spectacular performances by folk and classical artists from Himalayan states, creating a platform for cultural exchange among different communities. Several government departments and institutions from the Government of Uttarakhand and the Government of India have been invited to set up stalls, providing a comprehensive insight into Himalayan traditions. The event will include folk and classical performances by artists from Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Northeastern states, cultural dialogue sessions to discuss and celebrate the rich heritage of the Himalayan region, and theatrical and musical performances featuring renowned artists presenting captivating storytelling, theatrical productions, and live music.
