Itanagar, Feb 3: Ten IAS Probationary Officers recently visited Spear Corps formations in Arunachal Pradesh from January 31 to February 2, 2026, as part of an initiative to provide first-hand exposure to soldiering in forward areas along the frontier.
During the visit, the officers gained insights into the operational realities faced by troops stationed in challenging terrains, understanding the complexities of maintaining security in remote and strategically sensitive regions. The experience also highlighted the logistical, tactical, and environmental challenges that personnel navigate daily to safeguard national borders.
Officials said the interaction enhanced the officers’ appreciation of frontline challenges, strengthened mutual respect between civil and military services, and deepened awareness of national security imperatives. The visit included briefings, demonstrations, and field interactions, allowing the officers to engage directly with soldiers and observe operational practices.
The initiative also reinforced the spirit of civil–military cooperation, emphasizing the importance of synergy between administrative leadership and armed forces in addressing frontier challenges, disaster response, and community welfare in border areas. Participants expressed that the experience would significantly inform their future roles in governance and policy implementation.
