In a strategic move aimed at enhancing coordination and strengthening border management in the Northeast, Major General Suresh Kumar Bhambhu, YSM, SM, Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), called on Director General of Police Tripura, Mr. Anurag Dhankar, and Inspector General of Border Security Force (BSF) Frontier Headquarters, Mr. A.K. Sharma, in Agartala.
The high-level meetings focused on improving synergy between the security forces operating along the sensitive India-Bangladesh border and addressing emerging challenges related to cross-border crime, smuggling, and infiltration.
During the discussions, the officials emphasized the need for increased intelligence sharing, joint patrolling, and integrated operations to maintain peace and stability in the border areas of Tripura. The leaders also explored ways to improve inter-agency coordination and capacity-building initiatives to better equip personnel in handling dynamic border threats.
Maj Gen Bhambhu underscored Assam Rifles' commitment to working in close cooperation with civil and paramilitary forces to ensure robust border security and safety for local communities.
