IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar organised an Induction meet for the learners of Central Kashmir for July 2023 admission cycle at LSC-1202 Amar Singh College Srinagar. Learners from the other study centres of Central Kashmir like IGNOU study centres established at S. P. College, GDC Women Srinagar, GDC Badgam, GDC Ganderbal, GDC Magam, & GDC Pattan participated in the induction meet. The session was attended by more than 800 learners. Dr. Mudasir through PowerPoint presentation briefed the Learners about the mechanism of teaching learning of IGNOU and it's various programs. The detailed procedure that Learners have to adopt regarding academic activities, submission of assignments, examination, practical etc. The session was followed by a detailed question answer session. In his presidential adress Dr. Shahnawaz Ahmad Dar Regional Director IGNOU welcomed all the students to IGNOU and informed learners to remain connected with the RC Srinagar through the website and its official social media sites. He addressed the importance of timely information to students in distance learning and the need to complete all the academic components of the programmes offered by IGNOU as per the schedule framed by IGNOU.
The session was followed by an orientation programme of the approved academic counsellors of different study centres of South Kashmir. It is for the first time such initiative had been taken by IGNOU to orient the academic counsellors regarding assignment evaluation, counselling sessions, and other practical components. The section incharges of the different sections of the regional centre Srinagar discussed the various important points with the academic counsellors and informed them how to perform them in an effective way. Dr. Shahnawaz informed the Academic Counellors to perform their duties in an efficient way and adress all the genuine concerns of the Learner. Several academic counsellors participated and gave feedback and suggestions during the session.
