
Srinagar, April 14: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone VK Birdi on Tuesday extended warm Baisakhi greetings to the people of the Valley, describing the festival as a symbol of harmony, hope, and new beginnings.
Speaking on the sidelines of a Baisakhi function in Srinagar, he said Baisakhi also represents values of sacrifice, justice, and protection of the oppressed, while highlighting its cultural and social importance as a festival of gratitude and renewal.
He appealed to the public to maintain peace and cooperate with the administration and security forces to ensure a stable and peaceful environment across Jammu and Kashmir.
VK Birdi stressed that collective responsibility and mutual understanding are essential for sustaining harmony, especially during important cultural and religious occasions.
