Importance of Home Gym

October 03, 2025 | Sahil Manzoor Bhatti

In today’s era, people face severe health issues such as obesity, gastrointestinal problems, fatty liver, heart-related diseases, orthopedic complications, and many other risks. Our body performs immense and complex functions—digestion, blood circulation, excretion, and much more—all under the control of nature.

When we closely observe the functioning of our body, it clearly reflects that someone controls all these processes. No human being can perform such miracles on their own. Alhumdulilah! Every living creature believes that there is a divine power behind all phenomena, even at the level of invisible particles like cells and atoms.

The Miracle of the Cell

The cell is the fundamental, structural, and functional unit of life. Almost every living organism is made up of cells—whether unicellular or multicellular. An adult human body has about 25 thousand trillion living cells. Each cell has various organelles that perform vital roles:

Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER): Synthesis of proteins and lipids
Golgi Apparatus: Modifies, sorts, and packages proteins and lipids
Ribosomes: Sites of protein synthesis
Lysosomes: Digest waste materials and cellular debris
Vacuoles: Store water, nutrients, and waste products
Peroxisomes: Break down fatty acids and detoxify substances
Cytoskeleton: Provides structural support and movement
Centrioles: Involved in cell division (animal cells)
Chloroplasts (in plants): Sites of photosynthesis

Atoms – The Building Blocks

Every non-living thing is made of atoms, which are so minute that we cannot see them with the naked eye. Each atom has a nucleus and electron shells. The fact that humans can study these wonders shows the great mind bestowed upon us by our Creator. Still, many diseases like cancer, AIDS, and chromosomal syndromes remain challenges despite advanced technology.
This is a reminder that we should stay humble and grateful (Alhumdulilah!). Every creature and every particle has importance, and we must never forget the mercy of Almighty.

Why Health Comes First

When we ask ourselves what is most important in life—health, money, fame, or property—the first priority must always be health. Without good health, no other achievement has true meaning. Unfortunately, in modern society we encourage people to chase wealth and success but rarely remind them to first prioritize their health.

Professions and Fitness

Labourers and workers: Their daily work keeps them physically fit, yet they often earn very little. They deserve appreciation and financial support—at least a minimum remuneration of ₹10,000 per month—to live with dignity.
Sportsmen: They are fortunate as their profession itself keeps them fit, while also bringing fame, money, and charm.

The Concept of a Home Gym

Some people complain they don’t have time for regular exercise. For them, a home gym is the best solution.
A home gym means keeping a separate room (if available) or arranging basic equipment at home so that every part of the body can be exercised daily. Over time, as finances allow, more equipment can be added. Instead of receiving extravagant gifts, one can even request fitness equipment from relatives and friends on special occasions.
Before setting up a home gym, it is wise to consult a good trainer who can guide you in selecting mandatory equipment and planning a balanced workout. Encourage your siblings and parents to join in—together, it becomes not just exercise, but a family bonding activity.

Health people, health nation

Regular exercise keeps us happy, healthy, and rejuvenated. A home gym is not just about convenience; it is an investment in lifelong health and well-being.
