Indian army organises medical, veterinary camp in Abyei

Abyei/ Africa, Oct 4: In a remarkable humanitarian effort, Indian Army troops deployed under umbrella of United Nations Interim Security Forces for Abyei organized a medical and veterinary camp for the poor and deprived villagers of the Rumajak village/ Abyei. The camp was inaugurated by Colonel Kalicharan Gopalan, Contingent Commander, and witnessed the participation of several key dignitaries, including the Health Minister, Education Minister, Law Minister, Paramount Chief, and other nine prominent tribal leaders of Abyei.
During the camp, a total of 244 medically affected individuals received much-needed medical treatment, while veterinary services were provided for 42 cattle. This initiative comes as part of the Indian Army’s ongoing commitment to supporting local communities through humanitarian aid and healthcare services.
The event was widely appreciated by the local population, with many expressing their gratitude for the much-needed healthcare and veterinary assistance. The dignitaries in attendance also lauded the efforts of the Indian Army for their tireless dedication to the welfare of the people of Rumajak/ Abyei.
The camp not only addressed critical health and veterinary needs but also reinforced the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the Indian peacekeeping contingent and the local community.
