Indian Schools Convention highlights NEP 2020 for quality education

New Delhi, Mar 27: The Indian Schools Convention, themed “Strengthening School Education for National Development under the National Education Policy (NEP)”, was organized by the Centre for NaMo Studies (CNMS) in collaboration with the Media Centre at the India International Centre, New Delhi, on Thursday. The event recognized schools contributing to quality, inclusive, and value-based education while promoting NEP 2020 objectives nationwide.

The convention was graced by Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, former Governor of Assam, as Chief Guest, who praised schools for advancing inclusive education. He described NEP 2020 as a historic and transformative policy that, once fully implemented, would significantly enhance the quality of education in India.
Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Khwaja Iftikhar Ahmed highlighted NEP’s emphasis on harmony, respect for diversity, and fostering societal peace. Justice Iqbal Ahmed Ansari, former Chief Justice of Patna High Court, stressed that true educational progress depends on full NEP implementation and encouraged schools to use the policy as a tool for promoting national integration and communal harmony.
Prof. Jasim Mohammad, Chairman of CNMS, noted that the convention aimed to celebrate schools driving quality education and to advance NEP’s vision. Swami Devendra Brahmachari, Guest of Honor, called for collective efforts to strengthen educational think tanks that contribute to nation-building. Other Guests of Honour included Maya Kulshreshtha, Kathak artist and Rajbhasha Samiti member, Dr. Fareed Chughtai, Secretary of Delhi World Foundation, and Dr. Aparna Singh, BHU. The session was chaired by Firoz Bakht Ahmed, former Chancellor of MANUU, as Jury Chairman.
The convention saw active participation from leading schools such as The Air Force School, Modern Public School Shalimar Bagh, DWPS, The Real Life School, and Modern School Barakhamba Road. These institutions were also recognized with the Best School Awards 2026.
The event marked the official launch of the Aligarh Literature Festival and the Adhyayan Education Project, a school franchising initiative promoting holistic development in line with NEP 2020. Coordination was led by Nikhat Parveen, Director of Media Centre, alongside Tushita Bhandari, Dr. Daulat Ram, Dr. Amna Mirza, Dhananjay Kumar, and Dr. Deeba, with moderation by Dr. Amrita Sastry. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Divya Tanwar.
This convention reinforced the role of schools in shaping the future of education, emphasizing the integration of quality, inclusivity, and value-based learning under NEP 2020.
