IndusInd Bank gifts critical care ambulance to Assam Rifles

August 26, 2026 | BK NEWS SERVICE

Shillong, Aug 25: IndusInd Bank on Tuesday handed over a state-of-the-art Critical Care Ambulance to the Assam Rifles at Headquarters Directorate General Assam Rifles (HQ DGAR), Laitkor, Shillong, in a move aimed at strengthening emergency medical response and critical care evacuation capabilities.

The ambulance was handed over in the presence of Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General Assam Rifles, and Manish Verma, Regional Head, Government Banking Group, IndusInd Bank.
The specialised ambulance is expected to enhance the force’s ability to provide timely medical assistance and safely evacuate critically ill or injured personnel during emergencies. Its deployment will strengthen the existing medical support infrastructure of the Assam Rifles, particularly in areas where access to advanced healthcare facilities may be limited.
A key feature of the initiative is its potential to benefit the civilian population, especially people living in remote and underdeveloped areas. The ambulance can be utilised for emergency transportation and life-saving medical assistance, helping bridge gaps in access to critical healthcare during medical emergencies.
The initiative also reflects the growing role of collaborative efforts between security forces and corporate institutions in supporting community welfare and healthcare infrastructure. By providing specialised medical mobility, the partnership seeks to improve emergency response and contribute to saving lives.
The Assam Rifles has continued to undertake humanitarian and community-oriented initiatives across the Northeast, including healthcare camps, emergency assistance and other civic welfare activities. The addition of the Critical Care Ambulance is expected to further strengthen these efforts.
The handover represents a shared commitment of Assam Rifles and IndusInd Bank towards improving healthcare support, enhancing emergency preparedness and extending timely medical assistance to both security personnel and communities in need.
