Inter-Zonal District tournament in Samba enters day 4

Youth take pledge against drug abuse

The ongoing Inter Zonal District Level Tournament being held simultaneously at the Iconic Rani Suchet Singh Sports Stadium, Government High School Jatwal and Kehli Mandi Cricket Ground Samba entered 4th day today.
As many as 207 student players from all five zones of district Samba are participating in the Tournament for U-14 & 17 Boys and Girls features competitions in Wrestling, Table Tennis, Football, Yoga, Basketball and Cricket.
The whole event is being held under the supervision of DYSSO Samba Dharmvir Singh.
On the Fourth day, Joint Director Youth Services and Sports Ved Parkash along with other officials, witnessed the superb event and appreciated the enthusiasm of participants amid hot climatic conditions.
The participants and Officials took a solemn pledge to encourage maximum participation in sports and contribute their bit in the fight against drug abuse.
The Joint Director interacted with the players and motivated the youth to take part in such types of events. He also said that there is a need to generate awareness about the ill-effects of drugs and we must put an end to the drug trade and make society drug free.
