The aspirants for Junior Assistant posts under the Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB) have expressed frustration and disappointment over the prolonged delay in the announcement of the provisional selection list.
A delegation of aspirants said that the recruitment process for these posts has been marred by delays since the application process was initiated in 2021-22, after a wait of more than two years. The written examination for these posts was finally conducted in 2024, and the score sheet was declared soon after. However, months have passed since then, and the aspirants are still awaiting the publication of the provisional selection list.
"We have been approaching the JKSSB head office in Srinagar repeatedly, but our pleas have fallen on deaf ears. This delay is causing us immense mental stress," said one of the aspirants.
The aspirants recalled that the government had assured that all pending recruitments would be completed on a fast-track basis. However, the inordinate delay in the release of the selection list contradicts those assurances. They added that they have been engaged in this recruitment process for over four years, and the prolonged wait is taking a toll on their well-being.
The aspirants have made an earnest appeal to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, and JKSSB Chairman to intervene and expedite the process. "We urge the authorities to ensure the immediate declaration of the provisional selection list to end our suffering," said another aspirant.
