Jammu,June 25: Keeping in view the convenience of rail passengers and the additional rush in trains during the summer season, Jammu Division of Northern Railway will operate a special one-way reserved train No. 04648 from Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan Railway Station to Kharagpur. This train will be fully reserved and will depart from Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan Station at 21:30 hrs on Friday, 26 June 2026 and reach Kharagpur at 12:30 hrs on 28 June 2026. The train will run with a total of 21 coaches.
The train will halt at major stations enroute including Jammu Tawi, Pathankot Cantt, Jalandhar Cantt, Ludhiana Junction, Ambala Cantt, Saharanpur, Moradabad, Bareilly, Sultanpur Junction, Varanasi, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Gaya Junction, Koderma, Gomoh, Adra, Bankura and Midnapore.

This special train will provide great relief to passengers travelling from Jammu-Kashmir to West Bengal during the summer holidays. Being fully reserved, passengers will get seats without worrying about tickets or waiting lists, making the journey comfortable and safe. Also, halts at major stations will provide direct connectivity to passengers from Jammu, Punjab, Haryana, UP and Bihar.

Shri Uchit Singhal, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu said, "This special train is being run keeping in view the extra rush of passengers during summers. Its main objective is to provide reserved seats to passengers without hassle and reduce the load on regular trains. The 04648 special will provide direct facility to passengers of Jammu region up to Eastern India. We are continuously monitoring and additional special trains will also be run if required. Passengers are requested to book tickets in advance and cooperate with railway staff during the journey."
Passengers can get detailed information regarding halts, reservation and timings of the train on IRCTC website or NTES app. Linen facility will not be available for passengers in this special train.
Jammu Division appeals to passengers not to travel without a valid reserved ticket and to cooperate in ensuring safety of railway property.
