The young athletes from Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) showcased their exceptional talent at the 2024 IRSF National Rope Skipping Championship, held at the Indoor Stadium, Paddem, Goa, from December 1 to 3. The event was organized by the Indian Rope Skipping Federation and the Amateur Goa Rope Skipping Association.
Three talented girls from J&K made their mark, winning a total of six medals in various individual and team events. Imbisaat Abdullah bagged a silver and bronze medal in the Free Style and Double Dutch events, while Sadiya Fayaz earned silver and bronze medals in the Endurance and Double Dutch events. Mehvish Shabaan also secured two bronze medals in the Free Style and Double Dutch events.
Mohammad Sufiyan, Secretary of the Rope Skipping Association of J&K, congratulated all the medal winners and expressed his appreciation for their hard work and dedication. He also appealed to the Indian Rope Skipping Federation to consider Srinagar, J&K, as the venue for the next National Championship, scheduled for June 2025.
